Reign of Literature Publications has a new author on the scene. See what Indigo had to say in our exclusive new author interview below.
1. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer.
Becoming a writer was the result of me daring myself. I never felt like writing was my strong suit but found myself often dreaming characters and concepts. At the beginning of 2019, I challenged myself to give it a shot since the ideas wouldn’t stop coming. After starting and stopping twice, I started again and pushed through to the end; thus, Taming His Heart was produced.
2. Where do you get your ideas for your books?
The ideas come in dreams. I have a list of character names that I’ve started collecting, as well as a list of story concepts. Inspiration for me also comes from listening to music and conversations and experiences from those closest to me.
3. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
Stepping into my role as a creator, I learned that, as with everything else, it’s important to have a support system but especially with writing. There are so many ways and times to become discouraged, but with the right team—even if it’s just one person—as long as they’re genuine, you’ll be encouraged to push through hard times.
4. What other authors are you friends with, and how do they help you become a better writer?
The first name that comes to mind is my closest friend—author or not—Ms. Cherish Amore. She’s been by my side consistently from the beginning of this ride, and even before then. With her urging and motivation, I stuck to writing after quitting twice. Tucora Monique, Kiara Giles, Author C. Monet, Aubreé Pynn, Skye Moon have all served as sources of motivation as well, and for them all, I’m grateful.
5. Where can readers find out more about you and your work?
